About Me

Hello, I'm Joe!

Ever since I played my first game on the Nintendo DS, I found my love for video games.

My passion for gaming has beckoned me to be part of the magic that made my own childhood so special by becoming a game designer. I truly believe that the first step to creating a good game is caring about your project and the player at the other end.

My love for creating & designing experiences led me into my first large role with Club Penguin Rewritten, a fan server of a popular MMO called Club Penguin. Although this was just a fan server, this experience taught me so much by letting me:

  • Create content for an audience that grew to over five million registered users.
  • Learn a variety of new skills which were important to my development as a game designer.
  • Develop my own specialized interests which I nurtured at Bournemouth University, creating my dissertation project and graduating in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) Game Design.

After leaving Club Penguin Rewritten in 2020, I continued developing my skills through private contracting work working on an undisclosed project for Hyper Hippo.

Since March 2023, I have been a Junior Designer at Outplay Studios creating weekly content updates and helping design in-game events for Angry Birds POP!
